My wife and I were in a pinch after using all of our liquid resources on an unintended remodel and sale of a rental house.
I will not bore anyone with the entire story or experience, but I will say:
We needed to pull money from our investments. We were out of state, so the forms were faxed, then signed by us and promised a 5 day return. Five days later we call and they said there was another paper to sign. -we signed and faxed back. Five days later (now making it past Christmas-no gifts this year for our family) we again contact them to find out there is one other paper we must sign before the process can be complete. -20 days into this ordeal and still no settlement of funds. This has led me to call my employer and ask to be pushed back to fly out for work while trying to hide the fact I'm broke from these broken promises of funds. In turn, the two weeks I was pushed back has cost me $5000 and accountability in my personal career.
